He was predeceased by : his wife Shirley Y Isaac; his daughter Jacqueline Isaac Spencer; his grandson James Robert Spencer Jr.; and his brothers, Edward Isaac (Jean) and Thomas Isaac (Delores).

He is survived by : his sons, Kenneth Isaac, David Isaac (Lori Richardson), Michael Isaac (Roben) and Raymond Isaac (Erica); his grandchildren, Angela Baker (Sean), Jennifer, Brandon, Nicholas (Kari), Joelle Spencer, Jonathan Spencer (Bri), Andrew, Christopher (Taylor Meacham), Cameron and Zachary; his great grandchildren, Jaylynn, Everlee, Delainey and Jaxson; his siblings, Bill Isaac (Patricia), Jane Reetz (Tom), Nancy Casserino, Linda Berardi (Ed) and Elaine Chandler (Dave); and his close friend Nancy Wright.

In commemoration of his efforts and contributions to Habitat, Jim was awarded with several awards from the organization.
