He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugenia Mendez and Cándido Mendez. He is survived by: his wife Isabel "Beba" Mendez; his son Manuel J. Mendez; his daughter-in-law Frances Maldonado-Mendez; his granddaughter Kelly Scheib (Steven Scheib); and his granddaughter-in-law Jessica Mitory. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Yorktown Funeral Home (945 E Main St, Shrub Oak, NY 10588). A Mass will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 11:15 AM at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church (1377 E Main St, Shrub Oak, NY 10588).
