He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Thurston and Mabel Thurston (Bidwell); his spouse Ferral Dean; his siblings, Fredrick Andrew Thurston, Howard F. Thurston, Vera M. Thurston, Dorotha L. Thurston and Velma E. Thurston; his daughter-in-law Daryl Thurston (Jones); his son Russell Wayne Thurston; his daughter-in-law Brenda Thurston (Biedekapp); and his grandson Aaron Thurston.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth B. Thurston, Jr., Lynne Althea Shanks (Daniel), Steven David Thurston (Donna) of Wells Bridge, NY and Mary Ellen Harageones (Jim) of Unadilla, NY.; his grandchildren, Alisia, Eric, Benjamin, Kelly, Martin, Sky, Melissa, Shawn, Sheryl, Rich, Abigail, Chris, Natasha, Rachel, Kenneth, Morgan, Geoffrey, David, Jamie, Corey, Jessie and Issac; his great grandchildren, Aryanna (Preston), Logan, Julia, Abigail, Grace, Kevin, Roman, Henry, Aiden, Madison, Addie, Katelynn, Jonathan and Adeline; and his great great grandchildren, Rosemarie, Luca, Ely, Amelia, Ailey and Rudy.
