She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Munzel and Ruth Munzel (Brandt); her sister Nancy; her brother-in-law Lee Parrot; her son Michael Matthews, Sr.; her brother-in-law Richard Cook; her grandchildren, Charles, Michael Jr. and Jessica; and her great grandchild Mollyanna.
She is survived by: her siblings, James Munzel (Mary) and Debbie Cook; her children, Leon Matthews III (Diane) and Karen Emerson (Matthews); her stepson Marty Strode (Sally); and her grandchildren, Leon IV (Amy), Justin, Melissa (Ryan), Steven (Rebecca), Allyce (Ben), Kristin (Bill), Derek (Lindsay), Stephanie (Jason), Kayta (Austin), Sylvia, Tommy (Shaney) and Kyle (Megan). She is also survived by nephews, cousins and many friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Prospect Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
