It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carl J. Richards of Silver Springs, New York, who passed away on September 9, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Richards and Lucile Shaw Richards; his in-laws, Fred and Wilma Parmenter; his nephew Paul Richards; his siblings-in-law, Harold Myers, Bruce Miller, Wayne Hale, Laura Richards and Patty Parmenter; his brother Thomas; and his sister-in-law Mickalie Parmenter.
He is survived by: his daughters, Chloe Straw (Jason) of Pike, Crystal Kelly (Michael) of Rockville, MD and Clarinda Smith (Jeffrey) of Gainesville; his grandchildren, Jackson, Sophie, Anna Straw, Nora, Sloane Kelly, Ivy and Oliver Smith; his siblings, Joan Meyers and James Richards; his siblings-in-law, Kathy Parmenter (George Bennett), Becky Hale (Bill Beardsley) and Tim "Smiley" Parmenter; and his friends, Stanley Klein, Rich Merrill and Marshall Kelly.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Pike Fire Hall (67 W. Main St., Pike, NY).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Congregational Church of Perry Center, 7205 Perry Center Rd, Perry, NY 14530; the Calvary Chapel, 181 S Main St, Perry, NY 14530; the Wyoming County Fair Association, 181 S Main St, Perry, NY 14530; or the fire department of your choice.
