He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd J. Major and Anna McGinn Major; and his daughter Mary K. Major Hart. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Ann Straub Major; his children, John (Ruth), Michael, Teresa, Margaret and Patricia; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Murray, Kevin Hart, Matthew Hart and Michael Major; and his great grandchildren, Allison Murray, Robert J. Murray IV, Delaney Hart and Oliver Hart.
