He was predeceased by : his parents, Marguerite Turner Maurer and Victor Eugene Maurer. He is survived by : his siblings, Gale Elder (Lorne) of Skaneateles, NY and Gregg Maurer of Sarasota, FL; and his nieces and nephews, Sean Elder (Phoebe), Scott Elder (Maureen), Lindsay Orzel (David) and Carolyn Callahan (Michael). He is also survived by numerous cousins and life-long friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St Mary's of the Lake (10 W Austin St, Skaneateles, NY 13152).

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gary's life and love of his dogs can be made to the local Syracuse SPCA.
