He was predeceased by : his former life partner Jeanne; his parents, John Ryan and Marion Ryan; and his siblings, Kevin Ryan and Margaret "Peggy" Clancy.
He is survived by : his children, Melanie Duerr (Dan), Kitty O'Donnell (Tim), Ann Ryan (Tom Kennedy) and J. T. Ryan (Monique); his grandchildren, Lindsey Martin (Maya Ginns), Caitlin Fields (Chris), Chris O'Donnell (Laura), Molly Meng (Hao), Paul O'Donnell (Grace), Jeanmarie Ryan and Veronica Ryan; his great grandchildren, Nolan, Clara, Emma, Alice and Maeve; his sister Rita Nann; his wife Janet Mulvihill Ryan; and his stepchildren, Patricia Francescotti, John Mulvihill Jr. (Priscilla), Richard Mulvihill, Kevin Mulvihill (Molly) and Michael Mulvihill (Gretchen). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
