We announce the death of William Thomas Plouman of Slingerlands, New York, who passed away on October 28, 2026, at the age of 73. William will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. William will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew William will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. William’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Plouman (Janet Plouman) of Loudonville and Janet Plouman of Latham; and his mother-in-law Mariana Futia of Albany. He is survived by: his wife Rosanne Plouman (Futia); his children, Nicholas Plouman (Lucianna Rizzo), Alexandria Ciovacco (Maximillian Ciovacco) and Krista Plouman (Daniel Casey); his sisters, Elizabeth Plouman (Danielle Bennett) and Lynn Rigney; and his grandsons, Jack and Theodore Ciovacco. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the McVeigh Funeral Home, Inc. (208 N Allen St, Albany, NY 12206). A prayer will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
