We announce the death of John A. Scaia Jr. of Solvay, New York, born in Jamesville, New York, who passed away on October 27, 2026, at the age of 90. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Jane; his parents, John and Mary (Franceschetti); his sisters, Betty and Doris; and his great-grandparent James.
He is survived by: his children, John A. Scaia III (Mary Jo) and Elaine Scaia-Harbinger (Kirk); his granddaughters, Taylor Murphy (Christopher), Emily Koster (Thomas), Stephanie Seeley-Ion (Connor), Cara Harbinger (James) and Kendra Harbinger; his great grandchildren, Kennedy, Hudson Murphy and Charlie Maloney; Cara. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the St. Cecilia Church (1001 Woods Rd, Syracuse, NY 13209). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
