We bid farewell to Barbara Porter of South Glens Falls, New York, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 22, 2026 at the age of 89. Barbara touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ida Sholtes and Clyde Sholtes of Guilderland Center, NY.; her sons, Robert and Romuel; her brother Robert Allan Sholtes; and her siblings-in-law, Marylin McGuire and John McGuire.

She is survived by: her husband Robert Porter (Bob); her children, Leslye Porter, Marc Porter (Erin Campbell), Jim Porter (Colette McNulty Porter) and Jeff Porter; her grandchildren, Kathryn DeMoura, James DeMoura (Emma Dauphinais DeMoura), Margaret DeMoura Girard (Bernie Girard), Mary DeMoura (Gabrielle Perry), Maeve Porter and Ella Porter; her great grandchildren, George Girard, Simone DeMoura and Hayes Girard; and her sister-in-law Joanne Sholtes. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She retired to spend time with Bob and her cherished grandchildren, then following Bob's passing in 2008, went on to substitute teach until reluctantly sidelined by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
