He was predeceased by: his grandparents, John (Jack), Catherine Donohue (Kay) and Genevieve Mattison. He is survived by: his parents, Charles Mattison (Susan) and Suzanne Ryan (Donohue); his siblings, Mary Fodge (Keith), Daniel Mattison (Crystal) and Theresa Chadwick; and his stepbrothers, Tommy Ryan, Jeremy Ryan and Kevin Ryan. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial donations in TJ's memory may be made to the Special Olympics, 94 New Karner Road, Suite 208 Albany, NY, or any local firehouse.
