He is survived by: his wife Cindy; his children, Colton, Tristan, Brayden, Brooklyn Acker and Coral McKay; his parents, John Acker and Mary Howard; and his brother Dustin Acker (Mindy). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Derek's name may be made to Immaculate Conception School, 510 Oakwood Ave., East Aurora.
