He was predeceased by: his fathers, Ernest Cates and Louis Oglesby; and his stepfather Bobby Oglesby of Millen, Georgia.. He is survived by: his wife Jessie; his daughters, Shelby Stenson (David) of Rochester, NY and Lisa Funseth (John) of Lockport, NY; his siblings, Cricket Miller of Millen, GA and Randall Cates (Kitty) of Martinez, GA; and his grandsons, Riley and Emery Funseth. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Spencerport American Legion (691 Trimmer Rd, Spencerport, NY 14559).
