He was predeceased by: his parents, Johney Downey and Emma Jane Strong Downey; and his former wife Irene Barron Downey. He is survived by: his wife Addie R. Chandler Downey; his daughters, Gloria Ann Downey and Judy M. Downey; his grandsons, Otis Downey and Jacob Scott; and his sisters, Catherine Chandler (David) and Dolores Blue (Chris).
