It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Benedict DiStefano of Staten Island, New York, who passed away on March 20, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Salvatore DiStefano and Antoinette. He is survived by: his sister Joan Perillo; his nieces, Joann Otto (Michael), Diane and Crystal (Joan Laub); and his pet Freedom.

He concluded his career with the NYPD, serving in the 9th Precinct in Manhattan, where he made enduring contributions to the safety and well-being of the community he served.
