With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Denise Ann Scott in Staten Island, New York, who passed away on May 6, 2026 at the age of 37. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Sadie D. LaBoy. She is survived by: her father David A. Scott; her significant other Harry Acevedo; her children, Jeremiah Marland, Jadiel Morales, Jayceon Acevedo and Nyasialynn Acevedo; her siblings, Angelica Morales-Gonzalez of Reading, Carmen L. Harris, David Scott of Reading, Darris Scott and Jarren Scott-Hammond (Ashley Dengler); her grandfather Charles L. Jenerette; and her stepmother Maureen Altavilla. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Union Baptist Church (211 Schuylkill Ave, Reading, PA 19601). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the family or Harris Funeral Home.
