He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ellen Checkett and Chester Checkett; his wife Gail Checkett; his children, Edward (Jane), Christopher (Faith), Mark (Julia) and Lynn; his grandchildren, Kevin (Maddy), Caitlin, Kyle, Terry, Peter, Ryan and Maxx; his brother Chet; his nieces, Jamie (Mike) and Julie; his friend Carol; and his nephew Chet.
