Emanuel Jose Bonilla Obituary
Emanuel Bonilla, 83, of Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Richmond University Hospital in Staten Island, New York. He was born Emanuel Jose Bonilla on Tuesday, April 9, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up. In 1972 at the age of 37, Emanuel moved to Middletown, New York, where he lived until moving to Staten Island in 1990. Emanuel was a proud United States Air Force Veteran.
He was predeceased by his former wife, Jeannette (Mignano) Hamlin (1943 - 2012), parents, Jose Bonilla and Antoinette (Auditore) Bonilla Torres (1914 - 2008), step-father, Rafael Torres (1908 - 2005), his cherished aunts, Grace (Auditore) Capolarello (1920 - 2005), Connie (Auditore) Cocchi (1926 - 1994), Angelina Arena (1929 - 2013), and Uncle Frank Auditore (1918 - 1930). Emanuel is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Burlett Bonilla, step-sister Cecila (Torres) Moore Marsh, many adoring cousins, extended family members and friends. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Emanuel was privately cremated. Emanuel was Baptized Protestant and followed the Protestant faith throughout his life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Pity Church, 1616 Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10314. Interment of Emanuel's cremains will follow at Silver Mount Cemetery, 918 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10301.
