Gilbert Murphy Obituary

We bid farewell to Gilbert Murphy (Staten Island, New York), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 12, 2025 at the age of 88. Gilbert touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Murphy and Olive Murphy (Raffil); and his sibling Pat. He is survived by: his siblings, Robert (Bob), Albert, Leroy (Buster) and Olive Anne; his close friend Jack Olhsson; his grandson Patrick Albert; his sons, Johnny and Ayden; his wife Giovanna (Riccardella) of New Brighton; his children, Rosanne Murphy of Westerleigh, Regina Murphy of Edison, NJ and Patrick (Della Murphy); his grandsons, John Patrick and Ayden Jerry; his extended family, Cristine Fumando of West Brighton, Frank and Patricia Riccardella of Dongan Hills; his nieces, Erica Holden (Adam) and Jamie Sluder (Christopher); his great-nephew Connor; his siblings' children, Bobby Murphy, Diane Carney (Mike), Jayne Murphy and Robyn Scherzer (Jordan); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jack and Maddie; and also Rosanne.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (981 Castleton Ave, Staten Island, NY 10310). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031).
