He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Maza and Carmela. He is survived by: his wife Carla; his daughter Melanie; and his sisters, Laraine Matyi and Rosalie Langer. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews, one great niece, two sisters-in-law, and two brothers-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Joseph's name would be appreciated.
