We are sad to announce that on June 3, 2022, at the age of 88, Joseph James Doherty of Staten Island, New York, born in Brooklyn, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Joseph J. Doherty; his wife Barbara Doherty; his siblings, Jane Sebastian of Waterbury, Connecticut, Eileen Carbone of St. Petersburg, FL and Cornelius Doherty of Freehold; and his grandson David James Galgano of New York.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Quin (Timothy), Michele Doherty (Mark Svenningsen), Jacqueline Territo (Glenn), Maureen LaGambina, Joseph Doherty III (Gail), Barbara Petersen (Paul), Michael Doherty (Laurie), John Doherty (Maria), Gene Doherty and Lee Doherty; his brother Edward Doherty; and his sister-in-law Dolores Maxwell. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Joe ask that donations be made to his favorite charity, ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL.
