He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Sperling and Solomon Sperling; and his sister Ruth Sperling Gillen. He is survived by: his wife Johnel Green; his daughter Ellen Lipscomb Collins; his son-in-law Will Collins; his grandsons, Randy and Christian Lipscomb; his great grandchildren, Aidyn Ted, Cameron Joseph, Camiyah Alean-Joselle and Carmelo Josiah Lipscomb; his stepsons, Ronald C., Robert D. and Reginald J. Green; his grandchildren, Lexus D., Brandon C., Kiara J., Ronald B. and Kayla Green; his great grandchild Liam H. Green; and his nephews, Jay and Gerald Gillen.
He continued to work one day a week at the union offices all through his retirement until the offices were temporarily closed for the Covid pandemic in 2019.
