She was predeceased by: her parents, George Black and Mary Black; her son Ronald Gerson; her significant other Lloyd "Mike" Combs; and her brothers, Edgar, Joseph and Larry.

She is survived by: her sons, Robert Gerson, Gregg Gerson (Kerri) and David Gerson; her brother John Black; and her grandsons, Gregg, Timothy and Randy. She is also survived by many nieces, and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 30th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bedell Pizzo Funeral Home (7447 Amboy Rd, Staten Island, NY 10307). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church (5371 Amboy Rd, Staten Island, NY 10312). A burial was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 at the Resurrection Cemetery (361 Sharrott Ave, Staten Island, NY 10309).
