With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth LaGattuta (Staten Island, New York), born in Manhattan, New York, who passed away on July 11, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Ruth departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Ruth. Though Ruth may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter LaGattuta and Beatrice LaGattuta; her siblings, Mary Dalto and Anthony LaGattuta; and her nephew Peter Saldi.
She is survived by: her sister Joan Saldi; and her nieces and nephews, Karen Ferington, Kathy Peterson, Ann Dubé, Jean Saldi, John Saldi, David Dalto, Daniel LaGattuta and David LaGattuta. She is also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, and a new generation of great-great nieces and nephews.
