He is survived by: his mother Joan Coates of Staten Island, NY; his sons, David (Camille) of Quispamsis and Michael (Stephanie) of Dieppe; his grandchildren, Louis, Maisie and Lily; his sister Linda Coates-Markle of Washington State; his siblings-in-law, Alice Allain (Bill Morton) of Fredericton and Eric Allain (Denise) of Moncton; and his nieces and nephews, Sylvie Morton (Jeff Mott) of Fredericton, Christine Allain (Maxime Bourgeois) of Memramcook, Bradley Markle of Boulder, Colorado and Marc Allain (Charline) of Moncton.
