The family announces the passing of William J. Bielefeld (Staten Island, New York) on September 1, 2026. William, born on August 16, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Bielefeld and Mary Stella Bielefeld; and his brothers, Walter and Len. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth McGuire; his children, Amy (Stephen), Sarah and Bill (Katherine); his grandchildren, Thomas, Henry, Hugh and Lucy; his sister Barbara Gleason; and his in-laws, Eleanor Pages, Jim and Sheila McGuire. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A wake was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hanley Funeral Home (60 New Dorp Ln, Staten Island, NY 10306). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Ann's Church (101 Cromwell Ave, Staten Island, NY 10304).
