He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Gillett and Pearl Harter Gillett; and his brother Robert Gillett (Kay). He is survived by: his wife Rosalie Casamento of Leo's Church; his children, Michael Gillett (Jana), Patricia Henderson (Daniel), Elaine Rogers (Barry) and Marianne Arsenault (Richard); his grandchildren, Ashley Suppa (Fran), Daniel Henderson Jr. (Jon), Michael Gillett Jr. (Jenna), Joseph Henderson (Emma), Shane Rogers (Mikayla), Nicholas Arsenault and James Gillett (Lily); his great grandchildren, Brady Rogers, Elliana Suppa, Pria Rogers, Franco Suppa IV, Joseph Henderson Jr. and Olivia Henderson; and his siblings, Dennis Gillett (Sharon) and Marilyn Bourgeois. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Barry Funeral Home (807 W Chestnut St, Rome, NY 13440). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stittville or Floyd Fire Departments.
