Catherine leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Catherine’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Catherine will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard C. Smith and Margaret E. Smith. She is survived by: her siblings, Mary Ellen French (Raymond), Therese Ori (Anthony), Majella Ann Patella (Joseph) and Thomas Smith (Kathryn). She is also survived by nine nieces and nephews; and 18 great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (927 Park Ave, Syracuse, NY 13204).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Catherine's memory to the Arc of Onondaga Foundation, 600 South Wilbur Ave., Syracuse, NY 13204.
