She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Barnes and Gladys Barnes; and her cousin Pat Brown (late George LaDue). She is survived by: her significant other Dave; her children, Lisa Ditch (Art Cole), Rolland Beard II (Amy) and William Carr; her stepdaughters, Diane Skapura (Lance) and Debbi Armstrong (Harry); and her siblings-in-law, Sue Vanderveer (Don), Barb Stowe (Dave), Evelyn Disinger, Barbara Disinger and John Galey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Dawn wished her family and friends to support any organization that gives aid and comfort to the less fortunate among us, especially St. Judes Children's Hospital and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, her two favorite charities.
