He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold McLaughlin and Helen Hamilton McLaughlin (Milligan); his stepfather Alvin C. McLaughlin, Sr.; and his siblings, Beverly Abreu (Hamilton), Thomas Hamilton and Alvin C. "Butch" McLaughlin, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Nancy (Steingraber); his children, Donna Hamilton (Jerry Durham) and Donald [D. R.] (Tyra); his grandchildren, Laleak (Yetunde), Rosheia Church (Mar-Shelle) and Sharon Hamilton; and his great grandchildren, La'Nai, Marcel, Cataleya, Zuri, Zuriah, Sadelle, Nayellie and Kaela. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home (3180 Bellevue Ave, Syracuse, NY 13219). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Michael's Lutheran Church (5108 W Genesee St, Camillus, NY 13031).
