He was predeceased by: his parents, William S. Cowan and Ruth Cowan (Trimmer); his siblings, Ruth, Lorna, Bruce, Naomi, Claire, Joan, William, James and Sheila; and his daughter Bonnie Magistro.
He is survived by: his significant other Marguerite Matteo Cowan; and his grandson Michael V. Magistro. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
