It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward J Dubiel of Syracuse, New York, born in Utica, New York, who passed away on December 2, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Bernadine Dubiel (Rozyczko) of Syracuse; his parents, Stephen Dubiel and Teresa Dubiel; and his siblings, Dr. Norman Dubiel (MaryLou), Edmund Dubiel, Florence Hanley (William), Gladys Bromund (Jess) and Joe Dubiel (Mary).
He is survived by: his daughter Dr. Julianne Dubiel; and his caregiver Dr. Julianne Dubiel-Kapusniak (Stephen). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hollis Funeral Home (1105 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY 13204). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (927 Park Ave, Syracuse, NY 13204). A burial will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St Mary's Cemetery (4100 E Genesee St, Syracuse, NY 13214).
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Knights of Columbus, Syracuse Polish Home, or Sacred Heart Basilica.
