It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gloria R. Newton (Syracuse, New York), who passed away on April 20, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Albert Lee Newton, Sr.; her sons, Albert Lee Newton, Jr. and Ricky Newton; and her parents, Levi Redish and Geneva Redish.
She is survived by: her children, Garrett Newton (Queen) and Dianne Newton; her grandchildren, Tremaine Dorsey, Tamara Burgess, Eric Webster, Jr., Jamar Newton, Tarrie Newton, Shanissa Derby, Shantivia Newton, Justice Newton and Jordan Cheek; her great grandchildren, Kaiya, Veda, Jayla, Isabella, Kaiden, Kamora, Deymeire, Amiyah, Cassius, Erica, Elonnie, Eric and Nylah; her brother Pervis "Bill" Redish; her nieces, Queen Redish, Jacqueline Burnette and Marie Tobert; and her nephew Warren Jenkins.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bellegrove Missionary Baptist Church (219 Doctor M. L. K. W, Syracuse, NY 13205). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Bellegrove Missionary Baptist Church (219 Martin Luther King E, Syracuse, NY 13205).
