Though Inez may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Inez touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her daughters, Rhonda "Jean" Johnson and Phyllis Johnson-Love; and her parents, Cecil Dowdell and Susie Dowdell (Harden). She is survived by: her husband Rapha Johnson; her children, Patricia Johnson and Rapha Johnson, Jr. (Michele); her son-in-law Michael Love; her goddaughter Valerie Thomas (Anthony); her adoptive daughter Shawna Edwards; and her sisters, Hilda Macon and Amy Dowdell. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church (241 W Lafayette Ave, Syracuse, NY 13205). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
