James Donath Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Donath of Syracuse, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 3, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Donath and Jane Donath (Keller); and his siblings, Paul Donath, Fred Donath and Martha Costello.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Donath; his children, Steven Donath (Amanda) of Waterford, Pennsylvania and Jennifer O'Sullivan (William) of North East, Pennsylvania; his stepsons, Carlos Rodela of Seattle and Josito Rodela of Baldwinsville; his siblings, Shirley Ruszczyk (Bill), Sharlene Turner, John Donath, Jr. and David Donath (Nancy); and his pet Arrow. He is also survived by extended family, dear friends.

Though Parkinson's changed many things, it never changed the love that surrounded Jim or the place he held in the hearts of those who knew him.
