We bid farewell to John Higgins Sr. of Syracuse, New York, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 16, 2026 at the age of 63. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the vast expanse of eternity, John shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid John farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald T. Higgins Jr. and Marietta J. Higgins; and his brother Steven Higgins, Sr. (John). He is survived by: his wife Gail M. Higgins; his sons, John Higgins Jr. (Nicole Avery) and Christopher Higgins (Teresa); and his sisters, Brenda Hunter, June Ackerson and Tammy Gerbsch (Todd). He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The National Scleroderma Foundation or The American Cancer Society, as both organizations were very close to John's heart.
