He was predeceased by: his adoptive parents, Cliff Pierce and Mabel Pierce of Navarino; and his brother Donald Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann; and his children, John (Mary Ellen), Jeffrey (Robin), Timothy (Rebekah), Kevin (Betsy), Steven (Kate), David (Tracy), Kathryn Stroh (Larry), Melissa Toomey (David) and Matthew (Kim). He is also survived by 31 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
