He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Giannuzzi and Jane; his sister-in-law Vivian Giannuzzi; and his great-nephew Aaron Giannuzzi. He is survived by: his children, Nathalie Wheatley and Joseph Giannuzzi Jr. (Tanya); his former wife Christine Giannuzzi; his granddaughters, Ava Giannuzzi and Elaina Giannuzzi; his brother Robert Giannuzzi; his nephews, Bobby and Rick Giannuzzi; and his niece Angela Giannuzzi. He is also survived by Several aunts, uncles, cousins, three brothers-in-law, and mother-in-law.
His contributions to the field were recognized widely, as evidenced by numerous letters of recognition throughout his tenure. In addition to his pivotal role at DCMAO, Joe imparted his knowledge as a lecturer at Carnegie Mellon for a year and made notable contributions to his area of expertise through published work.
