Mae L. McDowell Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mae L. McDowell of Syracuse, New York, born in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 11, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Bob; and her brothers, Charles (Margaret) and Clayton. She is survived by: her children, Scott McDowell (Jennifer Peterson) of Jamesville and Cynthia Powers (Tony) of Livermore, California; her grandchildren, Matthew, Geena McDowell, Sophia and Jackson Powers; her sister-in-law Sharyn; and her sibling's child Kelly.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Veterans Cemetery Chapel (4069 Howlett Hill Rd, Syracuse, NY 13215). A burial will be held on Tuesday, December 30th 2025 at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery (4069 Howlett Hill Rd, Syracuse, NY 13215).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Francis House in Syracuse.
