Mary D. Riter Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary D. Riter of Syracuse, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 14, 2025 at the age of 75. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary D. Riter to pay them a last tribute.
As Mary departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Mary. Though Mary may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John F. Riter and Barbara Riter (Fields); and her sister-in-law Cheryl Riter (Daniel Waterman). She is survived by: her daughter Stacey Waterman (John Kapusniak); her grandson Mark Kapusniak (Renee Hagelberg); her brother Francis Olney Riter; her granddaughters, Claire Guy and Zoey Card; and also Heather Card.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Family Home.
