He was predeceased by: his parents, George Freund and Margaret Freund; his son Steven; his brother George; and his sisters-in-law, Luella and Elfriede Getz (Richard).
He is survived by: his wife Leona; and his children, Lynette, Barry Jacobs of Mansfield, Ohio, Robert D., Toni Freund of Cambridge, Ontario, David and Frieda Freund of Syracuse. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
