He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Hayes and Helen Hayes (Tickner); his wife Janet (Sierotnik); and his close friend Kathleen Klamm (Britt). He is survived by: his family Irish; his sons, Bob (Tara), John, Tom (Arthur) and Mickey (MaryJo); his grandchildren, Nichole Karleski (Dan), Bob (Katie), Marah Aira (Julio), Anna Hayes, Galen (Mia) and Morgan Hayes; his great grandchildren, Caden, Casey and Charlie; and his siblings, John "Buddy" (Rosalind), Charlotte Ferstler (late Edward) and Helen Marie Chase (David). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Church (216 N Lowell Ave, Syracuse, NY 13204). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's memory to the St. Patrick's Heritage Fund, 216 N. Lowell Ave., Syracuse, NY 13204, or to the St. Patrick and St. Brigid Food Pantry.
