He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard J. Knittel and Lorraine Knittel (Mueller); and his brother Richard S. Knittel. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Knittel (Cahill); his children, Doug Knittel (Heather), Greg Knittel (Ashley), Richard Knittel (Autumn) and Julie Stassi (John); and his grandchildren, Zackery Watters, Derrick Knittel, Xavier Knittel, Declan Knittel, Chloe Knittel, Dawson Knittel and Reid Knittel. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
