We are sad to announce that, on April 23, 2026, at the age of 78, Roberta A. Yackel of Syracuse, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Roberta has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Frederick and Doris Yackel; and her sister Christine M. Yackel. She is survived by: her siblings, Donald D. Yackel and Jane Richer. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
She also worked with the Alzheimer's Association, CNY Chapter, assisting families affected by Alzheimer's disease and dementia, and later served as Spiritual Care Director at InterFaith Works of Central New York before retiring in 2016.
