He was predeceased by: his wife Sharon; his parents, Frank Messina and Almirinda Messina; and his siblings, Rosalie Potter, Francis Chase Messina and David Messina.
He is survived by: his children, John David (Edie) and DorieLyn Messina (Rick Ivanchak); his grandchildren, Michaela Messina (Chad Ledford), Allison Ramirez (Robert Wolfley) and Logan Messina (Leila Pellegrino); his great grandchildren, Isabella, Noah, Harlow and Luke; and his siblings, Geraldine Smith (Archie), Doris Messina, Charlotte Goodison (Gordon) and Vincent Messina (Libby). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
