She was predeceased by: her father Richard J. Mahar; and her nephew Richard Mahar (Ricky). She is survived by: her mother Roberta Mahar; her daughter Kelly O'Donnell Mardiney; her granddaughters, Heather O'Donnell and Abilene Williams; her in-law James D. Williams (Misty); and her siblings, Kevin Mahar (Mary Kay), Reenie Distin (Mark), Tim Mahar (Lisa), Bobbie Lenahan (Rick), Mike Mahar, Kelly Firenze (Greg), Daniel Mahar (Anita), Matt Mahar (Leanne) and Casey Cole. She is also survived by aunts, an uncle, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers or plants, Sheila would welcome donations made in her memory to any of the following organizations which were her favorite charities: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The World Central Kitchen, Inc., Samaritan Center, Inc. (Syracuse, N.Y.), We Rise Above the Streets Recovery Outreach, Inc. (Syracuse, N.Y.), Helping Hounds Dog Rescue, Inc. (Syracuse, N.Y.) and The Food Bank of CNY, (Syracuse, N.Y.).
