He is survived by : his parents, Thomas and Rosemarie; his brother Henry; his sister-in-law Elizabeth; and his nephews, Mathias, Mark and Alex. He is also survived by many relatives and close friends.

“Tom's passing leaves a huge hole. I took 3 obedience classes from him: one each summer for my Belgian Shepherd, Stella, and one for Tutsi, a newer rescue shaggy dog from Mexico. Tom made it fun for pet & owner. Stella learned to read from him (well, "sit" and "down") & Tutsi became so good on a leash that I can now walk both dogs in Minnesota in winter. I treasured Tom's knowledge, kindness, creativity & humor. Pack walks were amazing - so many pups & people thrilled to see him. I miss him.”

“Tom was such a nice man and a talented dog trainer whose generosity, instruction and outreach gave many the opportunities to have enjoyable times spent training and building meaningful, love filled relationships with their pet. Our dog Blu grew to love Tom and always sat at attention for him, even when we'd just happen to run into one another. Tom always had a nice treat ready to reward good behavior and Blu was at his best around Tom! We will miss you but lucky to have known you.”
