He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Kovacs and Anna Kovacs (Nickonchik); and his brother James Kovacs. He is survived by: his significant other Waltraud "Trudy" Stauffer; his children, Mark Kovacs (Rae) of Alexandria, VA and Lisa Clough (Brenton) of Santa Barbara, CA; his sister Anita Woodworth; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sean Zurek. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
