He is survived by: his wife Carol Anne Bolton Johnson (Ferguson) of Ticonderoga, NY; his son Erik Clayton Johnson of Ephrata, PA; his stepchildren, William David Ferguson of Plattsburgh, NY and Kimberly Anne Woodard (Ferguson) of Troy, NY; his sister Charlotte Agda Chapman of Columbus; his siblings-in-law, William Richard Bolton (Sandra) of Saratoga Springs, NY, Charles Maxwell (Janet) of Leland and Joan Gijanto (James) of Ticonderoga, NY; and his stepgrandchildren, Amber Woodard Gilbert, Kyle Woodard and Stephen Woodard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
